off and away!

Goodbye cold, wet, and dreary North Carolina.  I’m off for a week of fun, sun, and a gazillion photo shoots in LA!
I will have some limited access to email, but I will definitely return all of your messages once I return

{ the big day } Jill and Brian

January was a cold one, but you wouldn’t know it by the smiles and laughter on Jill and Brian’s big day!  I absolutely loved getting to know them… smart, so funny, and super cute – what’s not to love!

Jill has two stores in Raleigh, Certain Things, and has such great taste.  You just know it’s going to be a good wedding when you see a Stuart Weitzman box!

St. Mark’s Chapel at Mordecai – so cute

Brian and the guys

something about this one makes me think of JFK and Carolyn Bassette

love these next two!!!

one of my previous couples (and dear friends) – Brooke and Brooks

all of the girls!

Last, but not least, much thanks to my friend Penny Noell for helping to second shoot!

Jameka,
You did a super job!!! You completely captured Jill and Brian, their love for each other, and the joy their family and friends felt on their big day. I love the church shots. Jill looks so beautiful, yet relaxed and so happy, and you got Brian-handsome and under-stated.

{ the big day } Autumn & John

Just after celebrating New Year’s, I headed down to the coast for a celebration of a different kind.  Autumn and John were in love with the idea of getting married in Emerald Isle and they certainly did it in style!  Here are a few images from their big day!

best wedding shoes ever!!!

Desserts, Drinks & Designer Bags

For the past three years I have been honored and humbled to be associated with Me Fine Foundation.  They are a truly wonderful organization, providing resources and financial assistance to families at Duke Children’s Hospital and UNC Hospital.   One of the big annual events is the Purse Gala and as a purse lover I am always eager to help out!

So for everyone looking for posts and studio updates, I’m terribly sorry.  I haven’t had much time to blog on my blog because I’ve been doing double blog duty!  This year’s Me Fine Foundation Purse Gala has been turned up a notch with a blog featuring most of the purses that will be up for grabs in the live auction this Sunday!

In addition to fabulous purses, Greg Warren of the Pittsburgh Steelers wil be on hand to greet and sign autographs.  This year’s event is not just for women – we will have tons of men’s items too!  So, if you don’t have any plans and need to score some points by getting an autograph or two, head on down to The Cotton Room for desserts, drinks & some designer bags!  Plus, you will have a chance to win a free portrait session AND get a super cute bag – what could be better than that????

And don’t worry – you will still have time to make it back home for the big game!

Purchase your tickets here.

{ the big day } Kristen and Paul

I was absolutely honored to photograph Kristen and Paul’s wedding late last year (yes, I’m wayyy behind on blogging!).   The Preston Woodall House has never looked better and despite the rainy weather everyone had such a great time.  Here are a few previews of the big day!

Venue: Preston Woodall House
DJ:  Ryan of Island DJ and Sound
Flowers:  Lyn Graves, Fresh Affairs

the handsome groom, Paul

Kristen was such a beautiful bride!  In fact, every time I have met her she has had a huge smile on her face and such a calming presence.  Even with the rain she was all smiles!

Fresh Affairs provided the beautiful flowers

I think Kristen looked stunning!

a few of the details!

Once the rain finally cleared, we headed out for a few more pics before the night ended
